Aluminum Alloy Strip
Aluminum alloy strip can be customized according to demand, with common thicknesses ranging from 0.1mm to 4mm. The lengths are cut according to specific needs.
Aluminum alloy strip produced by aluminum mills are usually classified into different grades based on their alloy composition and properties. Common aluminum alloy grades mainly follow international standards (e.g. AA (Aluminum Association) standards) or Chinese standards (e.g. GB/T 3190). The following are some of the common aluminum alloy grades of aluminum strip and their properties and applications:
1xxx series (pure aluminum)
- Grades: 1050, 1060, 1070, 1100, 1235
- Properties: Aluminum content is above 99%, with good corrosion resistance, electrical and thermal conductivity, and good formability.
- Applications: Widely used in the electrical industry (such as wires, conductors, cable), chemical equipment, heat exchangers, etc..
3xxx Series (Aluminum-Manganese Alloy)
- Grade: 3003, 3004, 3005, 3105
- Properties: Good formability, weldability and corrosion resistance, moderate strength.
- Applications: Widely used in the manufacture of beverage cans, pots and pans, building materials (such as roofing, curtain walls, ceilings, shutters), etc.
5xxx Series (Aluminum-Magnesium Alloy)
- Grade: 5052, 5083, 5754
- Properties: Excellent corrosion resistance, weldability and formability, high strength, suitable for marine environment.
- Application: Widely used in ships, automobiles, pressure vessels, building materials, etc.
6xxx Series (Aluminum-Magnesium-Silicon Alloy)
- Grade: 6061, 6063, 6082
- Properties: good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, easy to process and weld.
- Applications: Commonly used in building structures, transportation, machinery and equipment.
8xxx Series (Other Alloys)
- Grade: 8006, 8079, 8011
- Properties: Usually used for special applications, may contain elements such as lithium, iron, manganese, etc.
- Applications: Widely used in packaging materials, special cables, etc.
Different grades of aluminum alloy strip have their own characteristics in terms of mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, formability, etc., and are suitable for different industries and application scenarios. Choosing the right alloy grade is critical to ensure that the performance of the final product meets specific requirements.
